“Kony 2012 Video is Some Bull”

Here I am, thinking I’m doing something nice and helpful, and then I see this video.

I no longer know what to think. I apologize if this is true. -_-;

Interesting perspective from a Ugandan.

The important thing is to do some actual research, perhaps listen to a few actual Ugandans, and do some background checks before plowing your money into any organization, especially one that pays its founder over $90,000 a year.

I have thankfully not yet donated any money to any cause, and really the first cause I care about is getting people to realize what is going on in the world. But yeah, this video is definitely interesting. And a guy in my anthropology class is from Uganda, and when asked about his opinion on this topic, he seemed a bit skeptical and said he wasn’t really sure if Kony was behind all the mass murders in Uganda. It’s so frustrating getting so many mixed signals from different sources, but there are charities other than the apparently shady Invisible Children that help to rescue the children from child armies. 

ah, the perspective we’ve all be needing. 

Brb, instead of sending $35 bucks to KONY 2012, I’ll be sending it to Doctors Without Borders. Win-win!
